Milwaukee, WI - The Jansen Group, one of southeastern Wisconsin's largest construction firms, will announce their commitment to recycling on seven local projects over the next year at a kick-off event on America Recycles Day (Nov. 15).

The firm has agreed to take an active role in a grant program awarded to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources by the Environmental Protection Agency. The program is a partnership between WasteCap Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin Extension Solid & Hazardous Waste Education Center, Commercial Construction and Demolition Recyclers of Wisconsin and The Jansen Group.

The construction firm will submit online documentation of recycling results from local projects including St. Anthony's Parish in Menomonee Falls. The program will test the effectiveness of WasteCap's Construction & Demolition Waste Management and Recycling training program. Nine employees of The Jansen Group successfully completed the training program in October and are now among the first accredited professionals of the WasteCap training program.

The grant program will ultimately make online documentation of recycling results available to general contractors in southeastern Wisconsin.

The Construction & Demolition Waste Management and Recycling training program teaches contractors and project managers how to develop, manage, monitor, document and promote a successful recycling program for construction and demolition debris. It also provides training to obtain LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points. The full-day course is taught by WasteCap Wisconsin staff. WasteCap is a national recognized leader in construction and demolition waste recycling and has managed successful construction and demolition waste reuse and recycling projects throughout Wisconsin.
