Middleton, WI. – The Bruce Company of Wisconsin Inc, a full service landscape design/build and outdoor living company, has announced its intentions to build a full service construction and demolition debris recycling facility in Verona, WI. The facility is expected to be completed in September and is expected to process over 300 ton per day.

Construction and demolition waste (C&D) is a very large component of the waste stream. Other facilities recycling this type of waste take only the very highest value materials and the remainder, as much as 80% of the original volume, goes to the landfill. The Bruce Company facility expects to recycle the vast majority of the material it receives and send only a small fraction, less than 20%, to the landfill.

“We can have a dramatic impact on the volume of material otherwise destined for the landfill,” said James Altwies, Environmental Initiatives Coordinator for The Bruce Company. “The Bruce Company has been recycling wood waste and landscape debris for years. Recently we’ve added asphalt shingles and drywall. The next logical step is to include single stream construction waste.”
