WasteCap Wisconsin is seeking an individual for the position of:

Business and Data Specialist - Milwaukee Office

WasteCap Wisconsin provides waste reduction and recycling assistance for the benefit of business and the environment. WasteCap is seeking a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and computer skills for the position of Business and Data Specialist.

PLEASE NOTE This is a new position with growth potential and responsibilities will change.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES, Manage WasteCap's business function including:
- Record and analyze financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Perform accounting activities including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Monitor grants and contracts including submitting all necessary paperwork (e.g. insurance certificates)
- Reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports
- Document results from WasteCap Wisconsin’s construction waste management projects including quantities and costs. Collect information from haulers, construction Project Managers and others. Compile and analyze information. Prepare monthly reports for individual projects and aggregated data for use by WasteCap’s clients, staff and Board

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead efforts in developing database for management of contacts, members, events and projects
- Set up new users for WasteCap’s on line documentation system
- Work with the WasteCap staff as a team player.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated proficiency in working with and analyzing numerical data
- Accounting experience and training preferred
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail
- Superior ability to work well with diverse audiences and personalities
- Interest in solid waste reduction, reuse and recycling
- Ability to organize work to establish and meet deadlines
- Excellent computer proficiency including word processing, email, spreadsheets, accounting programs, databases
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and FileMaker Pro preferred
- Experience in waste management or construction industry preferred
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands, solve problems, contribute to and work as part of a team, and do “whatever it takes” to get the job done

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS / WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL EFFORT
- Medium physical activity: frequent walking/standing; lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs; some repetitive motion
- Some travel, primarily within Wisconsin

POSITION: Twenty hours per week. $12 - $15 per hour depending on experience REPORTS TO: Executive Director
