WasteCap celebrates Earth Week with green contractors
April 2007

WasteCap springs into construction season by observing Earth Week at five projects showcasing outstanding efforts in construction waste recycling. Workers at Boldt Construction’s Interdisciplinary Research Complex project in Madison celebrated recycling over 10 million pounds of waste while JH Findorff & Son workers announced a $20,000 savings for the nearby UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital project by recycling. Wisconsin Public Service hosted a WasteCap Wisconsin Talk & Tour, offering an inside look at the Weston 4 Power Plant in Rothschild, currently achieving an 80% recycling rate. The workers also enjoyed an Earth Day Appreciation Lunch and learned how their recycling efforts are making a significantly positive impact on the local environment. M. A. Mortenson celebrated Earth Week at both the Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee expansion project and the Froedert Cancer Pavilion. The two projects have saved the equivalent of more than 1,400 trees by recycling cardboard and wood.
