The Jansen Group, one of southeastern Wisconsin's largest construction firms, has agreed to take an active role in a grant program awarded to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources by the Environmental Protection Agency. WasteCap Wisconsin and SHWEC are designing an on-line documentation program whereby the construction firm will submit recycling results from local projects including St. Anthony's Parish in Menomonee Falls by using the skills they learned through the successful completion of WasteCap Wisconsin's Construction & Demolition Waste Management and Recycling training program. Seven of the firm's employees completed the training in October 2005 and are now among the first WasteCap accredited recycling professionals.

The grant program will ultimately test the effectiveness of WasteCap's Construction & Demolition Waste Management and Recycling training program and make online documentation of recycling results available to general contractors in southeastern Wisconsin.

The Construction & Demolition Waste Management and Recycling training program teaches contractors and project managers how to develop, manage, monitor, document and promote a successful recycling program for construction and demolition debris. It also provides training to obtain LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points. The full-day course is taught by WasteCap Wisconsin staff. WasteCap is a nationally recognized leader in construction and demolition waste recycling and has managed successful construction and demolition waste reuse and recycling projects throughout Wisconsin.
