Collecting or recycling e-waste? Register for E-Cycle Wisconsin by Aug. 1

If you are dealing with electronic waste in Wisconsin and want to be part of the E-Cycle Wisconsin program, you must be registered with the DNR by Sunday, August 1 to be eligible for this program year.

Collectors

A collector participating in E-Cycle Wisconsin received eligible electronic devices (EEDs) from households, K-12 public schools or Milwaukee Parental Choice Program schools and delivers, or arranges for the delivery of, the devices to a registered recycler. There are no restrictions on who can be a collector. Collectors may include local governments, non-profits, businesses, schools and others.

Reyclers

To participate in E-Cycle Wisconsin, recyclers must also register annually with the DNR by August 1. A participating recycler accepts EEDs from collectors or directly from Wisconsin households, L-12 public schools or Milwaukee Parental Choice Program schools for the purpose of recycling. Recycling is not necessary if the recycler only accepts EEDs from businesses, institutions or others not included in E-Cycle Wisconsin.

If you are registering as a collector or recycler for the first time, email DNRWAe-cycling@wisconsin.gov or call (608) 264-6001 to get information and a PDF registration form.
