WasteCap to reuse executive director

Milwaukee, WI – WasteCap Wisconsin, a nonprofit industry-supported organization dedicated to providing waste reduction and recycling assistance for the benefit of business and the environment, will reuse its past Executive Director, Jenna Kunde as its current director, Susan Buchanan resigns.

Buchanan has made numerous contributions to WasteCap Wisconsin since she joined the organization in September 2003.

"I'm so grateful to Susan Buchanan for her work with WasteCap Wisconsin. During her time as executive director, WasteCap grew its staff and added many more projects, services and initiatives which are having a positive environmental impact,” Jenna Kunde, WasteCap’s director of strategic development and past executive director, said.

Beginning March 10, Buchanan will be the new executive director of Tall Pines Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit land trust dedicated to balanced smart growth through preservation of land and resources in northeastern Waukesha County. As the first executive director of the organization, she will be guiding and directing conservation efforts, designing promotional activities and overseeing fundraising efforts.

“It has been a fabulous opportunity and a true honor to work with WasteCap Wisconsin – an organization that does exceptional work, is so well-respected in the field and that has made a huge difference in the environment,” Buchanan said. “I’d like to thank the board, staff, clients, members and partners for their dedication and support during my tenure—I will be leaving you in capable hands with a great future ahead.“

Jenna Kunde will step back into her familiar role as executive director. Kunde has been with WasteCap Wisconsin since the organization’s conception in 1996 and previously served as executive director for five years.

“I am grateful to WasteCap's Board of Directors that they are willing to ‘reuse’ me as the executive director. I love this work and organization, and I love that WasteCap's work has real, measurable impacts which benefit both business and the environment,” Kunde said. “I'm excited about working with the staff and board to move WasteCap forward and have an even greater impact on transforming waste into resources."

WasteCap and its clients have recycled and reused more than 250 million pounds of construction and demolition waste and have saved projects more than $1.1 million in avoided landfill disposal fees. WasteCap has provided construction waste management services to more than $3 billion worth of construction and demolition projects and have accredited more than 200 construction and waste professionals in construction waste management and recycling.
