About the Accreditation and Training Program
WasteCap Wisconsin now offers WasteCap Wisconsin Accreditation in Construction and Demolition Recycling.

Across the state and nationwide, owners are requiring construction waste recycling as a part of sustainable building. Contractors who know how to recycle will be at a market advantage. Reduction, reuse and recycling is allowing contractors and owners to use projects funds for building instead of waste disposal.

This training will give you the skills you need to develop, manage, monitor, document and promote a successful recycling program for construction and demolition debris. It also provides training to obtain LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points for MR 2.1 and 2.2.

This full-day course will be taught by WasteCap Wisconsin staff. WasteCap is nationally recognized as a leader in construction and demolition waste recycling and has managed successful construction and demolition waste reuse and recycling projects throughout Wisconsin. To view our current and recent projects, click here.

Participants will learn:

- why waste reduction, reuse and recycling is important and growing.
- how to save money and waste from construction and demolition projects.
- how to estimate how much project waste and recyclables will be generated.
- how to create a construction or demolition waste management plan.
- how to analyze hauling proposals based on projected quantities of trash and recyclable
- how to educate crews for best compliance and efficiency
- to conduct an analysis of volume, weight and cost of a sample recycling program
- how to document recycling results

Participants will receive:

- WasteCap Wisconsin Accreditation in Construction and Demolition Recycling for use in marketing efforts and on business cards
- Construction and Demolition Waste Management Toolkit. The toolkit contains sample contract language and specifications requiring recycling, recycling market information, monitoring checklists, worksheets for conducing economic analysis, sample sign templates, contractor education materials and more.
- WasteCap Wisconsin Construction and Demolition Training Video detailing information on recycling construction and demolition waste. Each attendee will receive one copy, additional copies are available for purchase at the training session.
- Everything needed to meet criteria for LEED Materials and Resource Credits including forms for creating construction and demolition waste management plans (a demolition waste management plan is required for all Madison demolition projects) and spreadsheets for documenting recycling results.
