Discussion sessions to enhance Wisconsin's recycling programs
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources

The Department of Natural Resources is considering enhancements to the state's recycling program as part of the Department's continuous quality improvement efforts. They would like your input in this process. They are holding listening sessions for businesses, non-profit and environmental groups. All meetings will be held in room 613 at the DNR headquarters at 101 S. Webster in Madison. Meeting times are:

Tuesday, May 9 from 9:30 - 11 a.m.
Tuesday, May 9 from 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 11 from 10:30 a.m. - noon

The following questions will be considered:
1. Given the importance of recycling to our environment and economy, how do we encourage continual improvement for recycling/waste reduction in Wisconsin?

2. What incentives or rewards would get businesses to take the next step forward in recycling/waste reduction?

3. What approach(es) would effectively promote exchange of successful recycling/waste reduction strategies and practices within business sectors?

4. What approach(es) would effectively help small businesses respond to state and local recycling requirements and opportunities?

5. If you think local government/municipal recycling programs need to become more efficient and/or effective, what strategies would you suggest to accomplish that?

6. Additional comments or ideas?

Please reserve your space in the meeting by calling Cynthia Moore at 608-267-7550 or at cynthia.moore@dnr.state.wi.us.
